Advanced Medical Optics MoisturePlus Contact Lens Solution

Advanced Medical Optics MoisturePlus Multi-Purpose Soultion has been voluntarily recalled by the manufacturer due to its link to dangerous eye infections, based on information provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

On May 25, 2007 the CDC issued a warning for those using the contact lens cleaning solution Complete MoisturePlus Multi-Purpose Solution from Advanced Medical Optics (AMO) because the product has been linked to a number of cases of the rare but painful eye disease, Acanthamoeba keratitis. The disease can lead to permanent vision loss or blindness.

Adverse Effects:

  • Eye Infections
  • Corneal Implants
  • Acanthamoeba Infections
  • Blindness
Over ONE FOURTH of the infected have had CORNEAL TRANSPLANTS to repair damage caused by the lens solution.

Contact lens users who experience symptoms of an eye infection such as redness, pain, tearing, increased light sensitivity, blurry vision, discharge or swelling, should remove their lenses and consult their eye care provider immediately.

Some bottles may still be in circulation. If you have had any kind of eye infection, a corneal transplant, or any of these symptoms after using Advanced Medical Optics MoisturePlus solution, you may be eligible for cash compensation.
